Show 104 The Anxiety of Toilet Phobia

We are human and sometimes being human causes us to do things that might look or seem strange.

But there is a reason. Once you know or understand the reason for the hell you seem to be walking through it might help you to cope.

But before coping you have to know and understand what is going on. For some of our brothers and sisters on the Anxiety road they are dealing with bathroom anxiety or toilet phobias.

This is just a starting point with some definitions and resources to help you start on your treatment journey.

Too Much Awareness and Not Enough Substance?

Little ditty I found at the Hogg Foundation. It is a discussion about the emphasis about mental health awareness campaigns.

Most of the campaigns try to focus on removing stigmas and encouragement to seek help and support. Some are targeted to certain populations, other are message for the population at large to stop with the demonetization of people with a mental health condition.

This podcast ask the question, is it too much? Is it smoke without providing substance? Is it constantly waving The Boogie Man without a means of understanding complex details and nuances?

Could be.

Maybe.

Maybe not.

Anxiety and Your Body Requires Respect

Once upon a time there was a man who felt that someone was disrespecting his name. He was being interviewed on a radio program and at some point he laid out the grounds for continued conversation.

It was lyrical.

Another group of musicians likes what they heard and put together a little ditty that captures the spirit of what Birdman (yes, Birdman) wanted from his radio host.

When it comes to an anxiety or panic condition you better put some respect on it. Recognize that you have a problem that requires one or more than one solution. Some of those solutions you do not want to do.

That is your choice.

If you ignore it, postpone it or others try to continue doing what you are doing (and getting less than zero benefit) there will be repercussions.

Those repercussions will not be pleasant.
They will, however, be visible.

Episode 031 Men and Anxiety

So many things are happening that I have to think twice, is this real or is this a page out of a bad novel. So far I think this is still Earth Prime but each day is a bit more nutso-crazy.

2019 Update: the original video is gone. I have substituted another video about how men perceive and deal with anxiety.

Video on How to Tell Family About Your Condition

Most of us don't really want to say a mumbling word to anyone. We'll handle it. Except that we can't always do that in private. Sometimes you need to tell a family member or another person.

It isn't easy. There will be some family that will blame you for being weak. Weak in spirit, in faith or backbone. There will be other who will try to take it as their failing to raise you proper. Still other that will claim the devil has dominion and start spouting TV preacher lingo.

There will be others that no longer will see you as a worthwhile person but a burden that they will have to endure.

I like that this video talks about pre-preparation before you make the announcement. The main thing is to make sure that you are safe before, during and after the conversation.
